Stay at Hotel Sophia I don't know what it is about hotels but they seem to put people in handicaped rooms and at the end of the building and some times near the service lift. The point of the discounted rooms is to promote your hotel and what you have to offer. On my arrival I was put into a disable persons room, the only disability I have is the colour of my skin, so it seems and even though the decore in the room is well presented it was small and to top it off there was a bad stench coming from the drain pipe in the bath room. The bathroom had no vanity at all. I complained about the stench and was put into what seemed a normal room, which had a seperate bathroom and a large bed room area and seperate amenaties area. The tv was mounted on the wall near the roof which is most probably not the best watchable place to put a tv? If you have a smooth run its not a bad place to stay. Its clean and pleasant decore make up for what it lacks in other areas. Ratings

Best of times....but then Hotel difficult to locate under scaffolding! Room was good, but had an unusual damp/mould/wet smell, luckily I like open windows. Location handy during day trips, bit scary at night alone. Attached hotel was eerily devoid of staff or patrons, even ones who walked in walked out again after standing at the bar for 5 minutes without service. Food all deep fried. Breakfast excellent! Great argument between staff overheard while waiting for lift....wish I could tear off strips like that. Ratings

Security deposit Watch your credit card account about a week after you leave as you could be in for a surprise. The $150 pre authorisation/security swipe of your card is likely to be debited from your account as was the case with my recent stay; along with anyone else that stayed at the same time "due to a bank error"; still waiting for a reversal after twice contacting via phone and an email as instructed by reception attendant. The included breakfast is not free if they activate your deposit. Ratings
